When buying a home, applying for a mortgage loan is very troublesome for most people, but it doesn't have to be. Being connected with a lot of lending companies in the Newcastle area has helped me understand a lot of the things that can make the process of applying for a loan pretty simple.

1 – Assemble a list of questions about your loan program

If you don't fully understand the advantages and disadvantages of all the various loan programs, make sure to have a list of questions. I or one of my lender contacts will assist you in understanding the advantages and disadvantages of each program, because it's hard to understand the distinctions between both fixed and adjustable rate mortgages.

2 – Decide when you want to lock

When you lock in the interest rate, a lender is guaranteed to hold to the mortgage interest rates for the loan – ordinarily at the time the loan application is presented.
